Sarat Rachanabali is a collection of Bengali novels, short stories, and essays by Saratchandra Chattopadhyay, one of the most celebrated Bengali writers of all time. The word "rachanabali" literally means "collection of writings". Saratchandra was born in 1876 in Bhagalpur, Bengal, India. He is best known for his realistic portrayal of the lives of ordinary people in rural Bengal, and for his sympathetic treatment of women and the downtrodden. His works are characterized by their lyrical prose, their vivid descriptions of nature, and their exploration of complex emotions.
